In four years, 48 countries will compete for World Cup 2026 since the tournament is held in cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Which cities and stadiums will host these matches will be announced on Thursday FIFA, the international governing body of football. It is expected that a total of 16 stadiums will be selected: from ten to twelve in the United States, the rest in Canada and Mexico.

For the first time, 48 teams will take part in the tournament instead of the current 32 teams. This will also be the first time the tournament has been hosted by three host countries.

arguing cities 2026 World Cup matches will be hosted by: Atlanta; Boston; Cincinnati; Dallas; Denver; Edmonton, Canada; Guadalajara, Mexico; Houston, Kansas City, Missouri; Los Angeles; Mexico City; Miami; Monterrey, Mexico; Nashville, Tennessee; New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Florida; Philadelphia; San Francisco; Seattle; Toronto; Vancouver; and Washington DC/Baltimore.

Four US cities are considered a castle: Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, Atlanta, and Dallas.

The “main” opening match will most likely take place in either Los Angeles or Mexico City, cities that have previously hosted World Cup finals.

The US, Canada and Mexico were chosen as the winners in 2018 ahead of Morocco. The US previously hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup; Mexico hosted the tournament in 1970 and 1986.

The joint bid of the three countries was called United Bid under the motto “Unity. Confidence. Capabilities”. Their campaign highlighted the great financial opportunity associated with hosting the games in North America, as well as the simplicity and, of course, the use of the large capacity stadiums that are already in use.

Most US competitive arenas regularly host NFL teams, and some are also home to MLS teams. Canadian stadiums host the Canadian Football League and MLS, while proposed arenas in Mexico are home to Mexico’s top football league teams, Liga MX.

Bid advertised luxury stadium suites and club spaces – promising that they are all “perfectly designed to host FIFA executives and guests, international dignitaries and award ticket buyers.”

Hosting the World Cup in three very large countries will create significant travel challenges for the teams and fans that follow them, especially when compared to tournaments hosted in one country with strong rail links that allow fans to travel from city to city.

United Bid took this into account by developing regional clusters for teams and groups.

The playoff leg of the tournament will feature west-to-east traffic, and the bid called for the final match to be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The bid also called for two semi-finals to be held in Atlanta and Dallas.

But long before football fans from all over the world arrive in North America, Qatar will host the 2022 World Cup. tournament Starts November 21st and ends December 18th.
