Kimberly Guilfoyle, the fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., met Monday for over nine hours with the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Guilfoyle, 53, a prominent right-wing figure in her own right, was expected to face questions about her role in raising money for the Stop the Steal rally preceding the riot and also her inflammatory statements at the rally.
It was not immediately clear what Guilfoyle told the panel in the all-day session or if she invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering some questions.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the committee chair, cited video footage from the rally showing her saying urging the crowd of extremist Trump supporters to “fight” to keep Trump in power in a letter demanding her testimony.
“We will not allow the liberals and the Democrats to steal our dreams or steal our elections,” Guilfoyle told the rally.
She was filmed backstage telling supporters to ‘Have the courage to do the right thing. Fight!’” Thompson told Guilfoyle in the letter.
Guilfoyle spoke to Trump in the White House on Jan. 6, as did Ivanka Trump.
The former Fox News host also bragged in texts that she raised $3 million for the rally, Pro Public reported.
Guilfoyle agreed to testify voluntarily, but she walked out in a huff after accusing some of the lawmakers of planning to leak her testimony to the media.
