Authorities in California are investigating a robbery at Macy’s in Walnut Creek on Saturday morning, with three suspects stealing high-end watches before fleeing the scene, officials said.

The Walnut Creek Police Department said “three black male suspects” entered the store at Broadway Plaza Shopping Center at 10:48 a.m. when they began “smashing jewelry display case with a hammer.”

The suspect, all wearing hoods and masks, stole valuables to disrupt clearly identifiable elements and fled the scene.

Last year, dozens of suspects looted Broadway Plaza Nordstrom in what witnesses described as blatant theft, similar to “in the movie.”
