The Orlando Magic stunned the NBA world on Thursday as they finished No. 1 in the 2022 draft. Paulo Banchero was chosen with 1 pick, which many speculated would be the top pick in the days leading up to the Jabari Smith Jr. or Chet Holmgren event. .

Banchero played a season at Duke before becoming Pro. He was named the 2022 ACC Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-ACC. In his lone season with the Blue Devils he averaged 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
