The series of car thefts in Central Florida came to an end when a 14-year-old suspect recently shot himself with a gun stolen from a vehicle, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.

All six burglaries occurred on June 14 in an area in South Lakeland.

The next day, around 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to a nearby house about an accidental shooting and found a 14-year-old suspect wounded by a gunshot, as well as another 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. Son

While the deputies were combing the room, they found various items that had recently been reported stolen from a car in the area.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said “a detective found a woman’s Michael Kors wallet with a woman’s ID card and a debit car next to the wallet belonging to another woman,” the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said. “An ammunition magazine was also found behind the bed’s headboard.”

All three suspects have been charged with armed burglary, major gun theft and other offenses.

“Please, lock your vehicles and make sure the gun is kept in a safe place [times]”, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement Thursday.
