The piles of praise for Steff Curry continue to grow like rafts.

Curry is fresh in the wake of winning the NBA Finals MVP after claiming his fourth title with the Golden State Warriors at Davidson College on Thursday Announced The university will retire his No. 30 jersey and induct him into the Davidson Athletics Hall of Fame.

Jersey’s retirement ceremony and induction will take place on August 31, the same day Currie will receive her diploma after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology.

“We’re doing it in threes – Steffy likes threes, right?” Athletics Director Chris Clooney said in a news release after the announcement Friday.

According to the release, although the school has retired six player jerseys in program history, the first number that Davidson has retired is Curries no. Becomes 30.

During his three seasons at Davidson, Curry became the university’s all-time leading scorer with 2,635 points and the all-time leading scorer at the Southern Conference. He was named Freshman of the Year by the Southern Conference in 2007 and Sokon Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009.

Curry completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology to join the 2022 Davidson College class. He fulfilled his promise to his mother Sonia that he would receive his degree.

“Looking forward to the opportunity on the Davidson College campus in the future, we can submit his diploma,” Davidson said in a statement posted on social media in May.

One semester was ashamed to graduate when Curry enrolled last spring semester. Twice NBA MVP has worked with two members of the Davidson Faculty, one at Stanford University and the other graduating from the University of California-Santa Cruz.

“It was great to get back the scenery and sounds and everything on the school and campus,” Curry said. “It’s been a long time coming, obviously. It’s been a goal I’m going to finish since I left campus. The promise I made to my mom and coach (Bob) McClope when I left after my junior year was just a feeling of accomplishment. Cutout).

McCullough has announced his retirement as head coach of Davidson after 33 seasons.
