Chris Rock and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson They were approached to host the Emmy Awards this year, but they could not take the stage for TV’s biggest night, according to a report.
Rock and Johnson were asked to host the 2022 Emmy Awards and it was reported that Rock turned down the offer, but according to a Deadline report, Johnson was unlikely to play the role.
Both Rock and Johnson have ties to the network NBC Is airing Emmys this year.
Rock’s comedy career began on “Saturday Night Live” and Johnson is the executive producer of the comedy series “Young Rock”, inspired by his own life.
The 2021 Emmy Awards show was presented on CBS and hosted by Cedric The Entertainer. The 74th Annual Awards presentation will take place on September 12th.
Rock and Johnson representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.
Earlier this year, Will Smith became infamous for presenting the Rock Best Documentary Feature Award at the 2022 Oscars.
