Rehoboth Beach, Dell. (AP) – According to the White House, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
Sullivan usually has frequent consultations with President Joe Biden, but a senior administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity said he would last consult with the president earlier this week. The officer said Sullivan was keeping his distance from Biden after he tested positive for the “a couple” virus he was in close contact with.
National Security Council spokesman Adrian Watson said Sullivan was “characterless and not close to the president.”
The White House on Thursday confirmed that Biden had tested negative that day. White House officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether Biden had recently been tested.
