Two people were killed in a lightning strike at the North Phoenix Sports Ground on Wednesday morning, officials said.
At around 6 a.m., the men and women touched electrical wires in the ground, city firefighters said.
Phoenix Fire Department officials said firefighters turned off electricity in the area before Arizona Public Service could investigate victims found on grass in the fields.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The names and ages of the victims were not immediately released.
Phoenix police are investigating.
