No need to search the weeds for this weed.
A three-car crash on a Missouri highway spilled 500 pounds of marijuana across the interstate Wednesday, police said.
The timing of the crash was not lost on Missouri State Highway Patrol officers.

“You don’t see this everyday, but it is 4/20,” the state police force tweeted. “Luckily, no one was seriously injured.”
The crash occurred on Interstate 70 in central Missouri’s Callaway County, according to the cops. A pickup truck carrying the weed swerved to avoid an initial crash, leading to a chain reaction with two tractor-trailers, St. Louis NBC affiliate KSDK reported.
While the larger trucks survived the crash with reparable damage, the pickup truck was totaled, according to a state police accident report.
The cops were happy to joke about the weed, but recreational marijuana remains illegal in Missouri. Two men, David Mora Navarro and Victor Gonzalez Acosta, were arrested and charged with drug trafficking. Acosta was also charged with reckless driving.
Both men, along with passenger Edith Daniel Lerma, were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, according to the accident report.
