Only 9% of voters in New Hampshire “definitely” want President Biden to run again, while 20% said they would “probably” run, according to a poll of potential voters in the state that will host the first primary in the presidential election.
According to a University of New Hampshire survey center poll released Wednesday, the number of voters who do not want Biden to run again has increased from 43% in 2021 to 52% in 2022.
Among Democratic voters, only 54% said Biden should run again – a very good drop-off from the 74% of self-identified Democrats who wanted Biden to be re-elected in a 2021 survey by the University of New Hampshire.

According to a New Hampshire University poll, Harris has 23% support, compared with 23% of Biden’s Democrat primary voters who view the vice president as unfavorable. 64% of respondents viewed Harris negatively as the potential 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, compared to 56% who saw Biden as unfavorable.
Biden’s negative 30 percent net disagreement is tied to an all – time low, set in May 2020, just months before he was to win a Democratic nomination as president.
A nationwide Fox News poll in June found Harris unpopular with potential voters., 39% viewed her as positive and 56% as unfavorable.
Speculation about the president’s disappointing approval ratings, concerns about his age, and speculation about choosing a Democratic nominee other than Biden has recently increased as Democrats face a devastating interim cycle.
2024 Poll: Desantis Edges Trump in New Hampshire, which holds the first presidential primary
The University of New Hampshire’s survey also covered potential Republican presidential nominees and found voters had a more favorable view of Florida Governor Ron Desantis than former President Trump.
Among Republican primary voters, 39% said they support the Florida governor for the first time and 37% support the former president. Defendants were provided with a list of potential contenders for the 2024 GOP Presidential Nomination, and the DeSantis margin was well within the sample error of the survey.

New Hampshire holds the first primary in the Presidential Nomination Cycle and is a permanent battlefield state. In 2016, Trump lost four state electoral votes by a razor-thin margin to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, and Biden won the state by 7 points in the 2020 election.
Polls suggest Biden will top Trump 50% -43% in New Hampshire in the 2024 general election match, while Desantis shows Biden outperforming 47% -46%.

The UNH Survey Center poll was conducted on June 16-20, and 845 2024 general election voters – including 318 GOP primary voters – were questioned online. The overall sample error of the survey was plus or minus 3.4 percentage points, plus or minus 5.5 percentage points for potential GOP primary voters.
